Princesses+Survival+Reality TV

This is the mix of themes you'll find in the new trilogy from Kiera Cass, The Selection.  In this dystopian society, where a strict caste system rules, 35 girls are chosen to compete for the Prince's heart.  The story follows one of the Selected, America Singer, who is both spunky and artistic.  The love triangle surrounding her story draws the reader in immediately, although I did get a little tired of how easily her heart was swayed at times.  There was great character development for both her and many other characters though.  The relationships between the girls chosen to participate in the Selected were a highlight of the series.
When I finished each book I was compelled to immediately get the next one, and zoomed through two of them in a day and a half.  They are a nice mix of romance and political survival story, having just enough depth to give you something to think about, but plenty of opportunity to escape into a fairy tale world.

Sunday Reading

Hey Everyone,

So its Sunday! More time for us to read ;). Recently I haven't been getting the chance to read but over February break I did happen to finish one book. It was called Wolf Mark by Joseph Bruchac. It was a good book, but a little fictious for me. Although the way it was written and the plot of it was very good. Something that really has that mystery to it and you are tempted to keep reading until you solve it. And some of the characters really can give you a good laugh (sarcastic humor you know!)! Lately I just have been reading to much fiction so I needed a break. Currently I'm reading Life of Pi and on the second page so I can't really say anything for sure! Also for English I'm reading to Kill a Mockingbird, which is actually quite good. At first it was just a little more of something that could doze you off but as you continue reading it really does pull your attention to it. Also, the author of this book, Harper Lee, is likely to have another of her books published! That is really a big deal because she has only written one book and that is To Kill A Mockingbird. So I look forward to reading those two books and reading many more amazing books! What books have you guys read so far. Any book suggestions????
